Thats what the time read as you looked down at your phone, you were 6 minutes late to your very first date with your long time friend Arthur. You two had been friends for awhile but never put a label on yourselves even though you both knew of your romantic feelings for each other. Rooms usually full of laughter became tense and awkward each of you waiting for the other to make the first move. However you didn’t expect him to actually do it.

‘Okay this is getting stupid.’ He paused ‘Meet me at 12 next Wednesday at the National History Museum? Its a date.’

You had smiled and agreed however the closer this day came the more nervous you were. The is a big line between dating and being best friends, meaning Arthur had already seen a side to you that the majority of your past romantic partners had never seen. You didn’t have a filter around him and told him more of the personal things in your life, ranging from stories of hook ups to bitching about your co-worker Arthur had truly heard it all.

Yet here you were stood behind a pillar at the front entrance of the museum thinking- no hoping he won’t see you so you can forget about this whole thing and go home. Its that simple all you have to do its hide and wait it out and then-

‘Y/N?’

shit.

‘What are you doing back here it was nearly impossible to find you! I was starting to worry you didnt show.’ His voice rang out causing the familiar feeling of butterflies blooming in your stomach and your cheeks turning pink.

‘No! I wouldnt not show Arthur- you know me I just get nervous..’ You probably could’ve responded 1000 ways and none of them would’ve been worse than that. But (much to your suprise) he laughed.

‘Y/N you have ranted to me about the most graphic and unnecessary details of hookups you’ve had- I don’t think you should be nervous.’

Now it was your turn to laugh. You laughed because he was right, you had been the most wild best friend always claming that ‘between two best friends like yourselves tmi isn’t a thing.’ Yet he still fell inlove with your outgoing and msybe slightly intense self.

You felt butterflies swarm to your stomach once more as you realised for the first time that Arthur wasn’t just your now boyfriend he was your soulmate, the one who had truly supported you through everything and had your side no matter what. So, as you grabbed his hand and walked into the museum together you could only hope that the next chapter of your life, one that you were to start with Arthur, would be a very long, very romantic chapter.

keegan is such a dog person. he loves dogs. whenever he sees one, he always gives it a treat and plays with it. especially after working with an animal as reliable and loving as riley, he wants to have a dog with you. sometimes, when you guys are out shopping, you’ll go see the pet store with him and play with the animals there. while you’re talking to the fishes, he’s with the dogs. while you’re separating two kittens from play fighting, hes with the dogs. speaking of kittens, i feel like he loves black cats aswell. hes so totally black cat bf omg

könig loves minecraft. will always play it- usually in creative mode so he can make a universe for you and him where you guys have lots of farm animals and cats. he most definitely is on the verge of tears when one of his wolves die, and you have confront him and tell him to take a break from playing for a minute. has beat the game hundreds of times but will never ever get bored of it. sometimes you play with him and you pick flowers for him while he actually focuses on killing the ender dragon.

ghost is SO SO good at bowling. he’ll recommend going on bowling dates so he can impress you. if you dont know how to bowl, youre in good hands. he’ll angle himself behind you and help you get the best shot. you’ve never seen him not get anything other than a strike, he’s too good!! defo will say ‘if i get a strike, i get lucky tonight with the missus’ knowing theres no way in hell he wont miss a single pin.

price is really good at pool. whenever you guys go to shitty bars, he’ll lighten the whole place up with his incredible pool skills. lowk starts gambling with the other players when they start betting. whenever he wins, he shows you off to everyone, pulling you close and saying ‘this is my good luck charm, everyone’ and kissing you on the cheek.

I’ve seen book stans shitting on the show (and also CC) but I’m just saying, it could have been a lot worse. I’m not here to say it was perfect except for malec which was wonderfully done. but imagine if it followed the books. if it followed the incest, Simon cheating, Alec being biphobic, magnus not communicating very well and also basically going after 17 year old Alec, and all the other unnecessary shit and problematic writing

so yes, I’m glad they changed the show. I’m glad they upped their ages and didn’t make it all about clace, and actually did Malec well. it’s always so funny to me “tHeY dIdN’t FoLlOw ThE bOoKs” ok so what’s the problem lmao IM FUCKING HAPPY THEY DIDNT

it is a shit show but watch it just for malec and watch Alecs development, these two lovely men falling in love with each other, it’s a fucking treat. so I’m going to doing my millionth (probably) rewatch. I will ignore clace, have no interest in jace and clary (because I hate them and they’re shitty characters as we know them to be.) and get excited about Malec. I don’t care what anyone says but Matt and harry seriously gave their characters their fucking all. they created (I think) these parallels for them and deepened their characters, and added some neat tidbits. stuff that wasn’t included in the books because CC didn’t give a fuck about them until it made her money (just my opinion.) lmao

to me, they’re so underrated because harry and Matt seriously made you endure fucking clace just to watch the show for malec. that’s some fantastic acting 🥲 so I’ll be bitch posting while I’m enduring this show for my favs: Alec, magnus, and Izzy 🥰

Soapprice is such an underrated pairing. I feel like it was more popular in the fandom whith the OGs, but it definitely has been neglected with the reboots. They're all just so special to me though 🥺

I think Price does enjoy being called daddy, though I don't see him as being the type to ask you to say it. He's into it, but he wants you to say it first on your own. He might get rough with you in bed if you ask him, once that trust has been established, but you're definitely going to have to reassure him for hours after that you're alright. hi, who is your favourite songwriters and why?

Joni Mitchell: Of all the musicians I've ever listened to, Joni is definitely my favorite. Tbh, I pay less attention to her lyrics (shame on me), and more to the melodies, which are incredibly beautiful, full of extraordinary sensitivity, flair, nuances, and at the same time sticking to real human emotions. I just melt in them. In addition to songwriting skills, Joni also has a wonderful, original, pretty voice. My favorite album from her (and also one of my favorite albums ever) is "Court and Spark" - very cinematic, funny, and at the same time touching on the topic of uncertainty.

Ray Davies: A very underrated artist. I rarely see him on top lyricists list - which is a same because he deserves it! Actually, in terms of lyrics he's my favorite. When it comes to wry, intelligent social commentary, Ray is second to none. I love the atmosphere of his songs. Using both words and melody, he introduces an atmosphere of a mixture of irony and nostalgia, which is completely unique. Songs like "Lazy Old Sun", "Autumn Almanac", "Shangri-La", "Dead End Street" (and others) are masterpieces.

John Lennon: When it comes to Beatles songs, most of my favorites were written by John. Starting with "Rubber Soul", his compositions were brutally honest, yet subtle: John showed you everything you wanted to know through beautiful means of expression. I love both his autobiographical songs ("Julia", "I'm Only Sleeping") and his psychedelic ones ("Strawberry Fields", "I Am the Walrus"). His play with words is great. Hot take: Lennon wrote just as good melodies as McCartney, but his melodies were just different - not as conventionally pretty (apart from "In My Life", "If I Fell"), not as "smooth", but equally good. As for his solo career, it's a bit disappointing, but "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band" is one of the greatest albums of all time. The way John conveys his rage, pain and disappointment there is inimitable.

Paul McCartney: When it comes to ex-Beatles careers, Paul definitely wins. The number of great songs he has written - whether with Wings, with Linda or during his solo career - is mind-boggling. His versatility is impressive. Pop, music hall, indie, hard rock, ambient, classical music - you'll find it all in Paul's rich catalog. He was and is an amazing songwriter, vocalist and bassist. And, as Dylan said, he's so damn effortless. My favorite albums are: "McCartney", "RAM", "Venus and Mars", "Wings over America", "London Town", "Tug of War", "Electric Arguments".

I also like: Sinéad O'Connor, Linda Perhacs, Margo Guryan, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Fiona Apple, Paul Simon...

In honour of his birthday, I'm going to rant about some of my favourite roles of the global treasure (yes, I'm promoting him from the ‘national’ status), David Tennant. Feel free to add your own.💙

Fourteen Doctor: This might seem like an odd choice to start with when there are popular choices like the Tenth Doctor and Crowley, but this character holds a very special place in my heart. I've been a fan of DT for about 6 years now and it started with Doctor Who. I love Ten but Fourteen is just more dear to me. Mostly because he made me excited again for one of my favourite TV shows. As a character, he has all the trademark qualities of the Doctor - the genius level intellect, endless compassion, and love for new adventures. But he is somehow more mature and softer, and I loved this development. Also, that blue coat and that (1) button - you know what I'm talking about.

Phileas Fogg: Such an underrated TV show. The chemistry of the trio, the adventures, the title sequence music - there's so much to love about this. And Fogg is such a real character. So far from perfect, this man will often appear as aloof, vain, self-absorbed and even a coward. But I think Phileas is one of the best roles ever played by Tennant. Yes, he's flawed but he's also intelligent, so incredibly kind, and yes, even brave. If you haven't watched this show, I highly recommend it.

Alec Hardy: So different from most other charming roles of DT, Hardy is a sad wet cat. He's grumpy, not nice, and just really tired of the world (who can't relate though?). His reluctant friendship with Ellie is one of the best parts of the grim show. And the fanfic lover in me can't stop screaming about how whumpable he is.

Crowley: I was going for the top three kind of ranking but the thin dark duke slithered his way over. And how can you not love Anthony J. Crowley? From this pure delightful joy while creating stars and nebulae (I can't get over David's face and the happy noises he makes in this scene) to his reluctant and vast love for his Angel and the earth, Crowley is very easy to fall in love with (take notes, Aziraphale. I know you love him but please use your words. Crowley, at least, tried). 

I wanted to add more characters, especially the Shakespearean ones (I love Hamlet, but Benedick has my heart), but the list won't simply ever end then. So, I'm just going to say name all the ones I love and end it here - Simon Yates (There She Goes), Dave Tyler (Single Father), Campbell Bain (Takin' over the Asylum), Harry Watling aka The Sexy Vicar (Inside Man, this show was so freaking stressful but I loved David's character), every single Shakespearean character he ever played (even the ones I haven't or probably won't ever get the chance to see - cries in Macbeth), and, of course, Scrooge McDuck (DuckTales).

So, thank you DT for gifting the world with some of the best, most adorable, wholesome, gender-enviable characters to ever exist. (Except for the creeps, freaks, and ruthless murderers, which we kind of love as well). Happy Birthday! 💙

I had an idea of Simon with a librarian!reader and I can’t get it out my head!!! Like imagine…

Simon staring at a section of books and grabbing one, he reads the back for the plot and then opens it to read the first chapter to see if he likes it. Halfway in the story, he learned the story is about a Cold War female spy trying to get answers for the military, while he is getting to a certain point.

“Oooo now thats an underrated book”

The six foot four man almost jumps out his skin, turning to see a tiny little lady,

“oops sorry didn’t mean to scare you” she says with a little giggle.

“I was just saying it was a good read, if you really like that one you will definitely love this one. It’s the second book to that one” she said handing him another book,

staring at her, he saw how she was was a little pudgy and soft looking, she had a bright smile which matched her sunshine energy.

It damn near blinded the man. Taking the book gently from her, she gave him a soft smile and turned to walk away, but stopped at the end of the aisle turning around with a very bright smile that could out shine the sun itself.

“My name is y/n I am the director of the library here at base, if you need anything let me know!” With that she walked away with a bounce in her step.

Simon stared at her bewildered and stunned.
